My Gift part 3

“The ridicals are demon dogs. They are wild creatures of the far west.A long time ago, they invaded our village and kept us captive for 3 years. If that happens again, I’m not sure we can hold on for longer.” Martha said with a comprehensive tone.
“But how do you know that they are coming? What if they’re not,” asked Maya with a raised eyebrow.
“Some kids were playing next to the dark forest, found a fur from the one of the demon dogs. We had the same sign when we were invaded 15 years ago,”
“Come on Masha, it looks like she’s lying. I’ve never heard of anything like demon dogs before, so why are you getting worried. Your father just probably went somewhere,” she said as she gave out a little yawn.
“No, Maya. It has to be true.,” I said with a straight back. “The next right thing, is to go into the dark forest and help him,”
“Masha ! Your risking your life,” she screamed at me.
“Well if your too scared to help me and be a nice friend than it’s ok. I’ll go by myself” I shouted at her. I thought she would come.
The immediate next day, I packed a few things in my travel bag, not enough to have a luxurious holiday, but only to survive for a few weeks. Maya didn’t talk anything about it. Infact, she  forgot, so I decided not to tell Maya about this. I left a little note in the dining table just incase Maya comes and looks for me. I ran across the village, making sure no one saw me. My bag slapped against my lap. I could hear my heart pounding harder and harder. The sun shown brighter than usual.
Then suddenly, I was standing in front of the dark forest. now I understand why they called the dark forest. It looked like nothing but deadly and dark. The sun faded slightly and faintly as I stepped closer and closer to the dark forest. The darkness invaded the forest long time ago.
Hesitated at first to step into the forest. Then I remembered the trouble of my father could be in and took a step inside. Ravens flew across the horizon and through the trees that looked dead. A rotting smell and the lavender secant of dad fulled the atmosphere.
Out of the blue, she heard a loud howl which sounded like the of the demon dogs she followed that loud that howl that led her to nowhere but dark trees, but she saw something on the floor that made  her soul go out of her body.
It was the fresh body of dad, Pablo and rotting body of mom.  My eyes welled up as I slowly walked towards the body. Tears started dancing down my cheeks. I ran outside the forest, tears pouring down my eyes. My tummy started hurting from the shock. I ran across the village.
