Home-Made Candied Almonds; A Recipe for the Sugar-Teeth

#Christmas Treats #Roasted Almonds Recipe #Caramelised Almonds recipe

If you know me, you would know that I love to bake. I like to bake all sorts of things. From two tire cakes to simple yet elegant cookies. And when its Christmas time, there is nothing I LOVE more than to make warm and sugary sweets.

A classic Christmas treat is ,of course candied almonds. These sugary sweets make you think of Christmas markets and old fashioned sweets. All you need are almonds, sugar, water and sweet 45 minutes.

Ingredient's:

200g sweet almonds

11/2 powdered sugar

1/2 dl water

Steps:

Toast the almonds in a dry frying pan until they start to change colour. Do this for about 5 mins.

In a separate saucepan, boil water and sugar. Let it boil until the sugar dissolves.

Add the almonds into the saucepan and cock until they become dry and sugary. Stir occasionally, let the sugar start to melt and stir in a way that makes the sugar stick.

Pour out the almonds on baking paper and let it to dry. Store in a airtight container.
